Fluke what?

25 Jun

Sometime ago, I was trying to get a cabling guy to check out some cabling issue one server and so I told him to “fluke the cable”. His reply was “fluke what? What is fluke?”

I was surprised that this came from a cabling guy! Frankly speaking, I am  no much surprise that even Windows support guys may not know what I am talking about.

Do you?

I am a windows guy. Yes I know waht a Fluke is. I personally own 5 pieces of Fluke equipment. Having said that, I have never seen a cable vendor that used Fluke equipment. You should have just asked him to certify the cable drop.

Well, I think some companies think that the equipment is too expensive! Anyway, my point is that new entrants so equipment themselves with technical jargon of their trade.

    Kelvin,

Maybe the cable guy thought you are speaking in German. 😛
